Colombian Blue Smoke “Lemurian” Quartz Cluster – Colombia

Colombian Blue Smoke “Lemurian” Quartz from Santander, Colombia.

Known for its captivating blue hued smoke-like inclusions and needle-like formations, this piece is a stunning large cabinet specimen featuring iron staining at the base contrasting beautifully with the blue smoke.

Its blue smokey, ethereal appearance was originally believed to be caused by the presence of the mineral Cookeite, however It is now thought to be due to something called the Tyndall Effect and not necessarily the inclusion of any particular mineral. However there is titanium, manganese and iron present which causes the golden staining.

The Tyndall effect is the scattering of a beam of light by a medium containing microscopic suspended particles – for example, smoke or dust in a room making a light beam entering a window visible.

Thought to be extremely high vibrational, coveted by collectors, healers, and energy enthusiasts alike.
