Description

A beautiful Aragonite specimen from Mamsa, Sidi Ayad, Morocco, featuring almost colourless, elongated prismatic crystals with distinctive twinned pseudohexagonal terminations. The crystals display excellent definition and an elegant, highly unusual form similar in appearance to Beryl.

The combination of elongated prismatic growth and pseudohexagonal twinning gives Aragonites from this locality a distinctive mineral architecture, with the translucency and bright lustre of the crystals enhancing their natural beauty. The terminations feature evidence of cyclic twinning, and despite their hexagonal appearance are in fact orthorhombic, with multiple singular crystals forming symmetrically together mimicking the outward appearance of the hexagonal structure.
