Decorating your home so that it promotes health and wellness will always yield positive benefits for your mind, body and soul – and, to that end, amassing a beautiful collection of stunning and unique crystals should perhaps be your next big interior design project.
One of the most popular gems for use throughout the home is, of course, amethyst crystal. This gorgeous stone is actually a violet variety of quartz and its name taken from Greek mythology, where the word ‘amethystos’ meant ‘intoxicate’… and it was believed by the Ancient Greeks that it protected against drunkenness!
In fact, the Ancient Greeks even went so far as to carve drinking vessels from the stone so, as you can see, it’s been used in the home for a very long time indeed!
For contemporary homes, one of the best parts of the house to place your new crystals is in the bedroom, as the stone can help create a sense of peace and security, which is just what you need for a good night’s sleep! Putting it on your nightstand where you can see it easily before you drift off could prove particularly beneficial.
Another great option if you work from home (or even if you don’t!) is to put some amethyst somewhere on your office desk. You might well be surprised at just how productive you are as a result and how creatively you start to think, all thanks to this one little addition to your design scheme.
Alternatively, what about getting a huge piece of amethyst and using it as a doorstop somewhere near the entranceway so it’s one of the first pieces you see when you come home after a long hard day? This will immediately make you feel more relaxed and better able to switch off, as well as affording your home an extra level of protection in one fell swoop.
But, of course, just play around with your crystals and see where they work best and how they make you feel. It’s all personal, after all!
